I believe that…

1. …our Town should be fixated on the safety, health, and quality-of-life of both the Town and her citizens, followed by implementation of the citizens’ General Plan.

2. …the kids and grand-kids that grow up in Dewey-Humboldt should have every opportunity to excel and have fun, and, when mature, look back at their hometown life as a fantastic experience.

3. …maintaining R-70 (70,000 sq ft) zoning for the vast majority of residential parcels, and therefore the rural characteristic of our Town, should be fiercely protected.

4. …we need an economic development area in order that our Incorporated Town can afford to be an incorporated town.

5. …unused State and Federal lands within our boundaries should be our recreation sites for walking, hiking, riding, playing, and simply enjoying our special environment.

6. …our Public Works employees should have proper work and equipment facilities, as should all of the Town Staff, and the Town should own instead of waste our budget by renting its Town Hall.

7. …because seconds count, public and private roads, both paved and dirt, should be maintained at a level that doesn’t hinder our first-responders.

8. …our community is governed by Federal, State, and Town laws, and if we disagree with their decrees, we should stand-up and fight to change them instead of willfully ignoring them.

9. …after costing us so much, the superfund sites should become gems of Dewey-Humboldt.

10. …your Town Council, as representatives of all Dewey-Humboldt citizenry, should set the best example of civilized society.

11. …while in previous General Plans our Town has been described as “The Jewel of the Quad-Cities”, we have not yet achieved that acclaim, but we should be effectively focused on accomplishing it.
